Lifesaver and lightsaber, simple or imaginary, are tools used to carry out particular function. Instruments of, and for, protecting life, empowering it, shielding it, strengthening it. Life, and us.

Lightsaber, although a weapon, is a tool of protection, exploration, strength and courage for fighting for the cause. The tool that makes us brave to go, search, research, seek, explore, find, conquer the unknown, all the frightening and intimidating experiences ahead. It is easy to imagine Art being just that kind of instrument used of and for exploring, searching, researching, collecting and interpreting knowledge, experiences, ideas, feelings. A tool that helps us understand and then direct all these thoughts and sensible in becoming articulated opinions, thinkings.

Lifesaver, something that protects life, a tool of shielding. Art, through its power of both emotional and intellectual comfort and stimulation, is the ultimate life west. It is a saviour that keeps the body, mind and soul afloat. Away from drowning in deep unpleasant stressfulness of everyday struggles and challenges. It is an instrument that leads the way and brings us safe to shore, to staying alive, to living.

Whence… it comes as only natural to feel, see and understand that Art is the ultimate apparatus needed for particular activity and purpose – for living. Living life, not merely survive it.

Heart beat… walking pace… We are by nature’s design embedded with pulsation. With beating pulse. With rhythm. And we are by nature inclined to listen to this pulsating rhythms of our physical (well)being. We are not only influenced by them individually, but our natural rhythms intertwine and effect each other. If one is to follow a certain pulse of a walking pace, but desires to hurry – one will run. But if the beating of the heart tells us to slow down, the body reacts and works to synchronize these rhythms, pulsations to reach harmony of movement. And we learn to listen to these pulsations, to feel what is the best for our physical well-being.

Equally, our mind and soul desire this harmony, the well-being – within, but with outer world as well.
Art is the rhythmical throbbing for neurons that produces the regular stimulations of the mind, soul and heart and becomes recurrent rhythmic series of beats, waves, vibrations… Art fills us with necessary pulses and beating. The pulsation that moves both the felt and the intellect, mind and soul, to go forward. To thrive and live. To seek, experience, to experiment, examine, apprehend… to feel and to learn. To live, rather then simply survive life.

In this moment, a moment of what more and more seems as “instant” living, it is very easy to get lost in going for the “next thing”. It seems even beyond it being a chase for a next thing, but rather unconscious drift of mind, constantly distracted by imposed pace of life. Illusion for necessity of fast living. Disableing profoundly experencing, in-depth commiting and exploring the courent, the “now thing”. The “ypurself”. This persuite easily trows the mind and the body out of balance.
Even by just pausing to see, hear, experience any form of artistic expression allows one to at least slow down this pace. And eventually maybe even stop time for the moment. And think. Feel. Recharge. Express. Get to know and understand oneslef.
Doing art, and music especialy, practices patience and persverance. As getting it to be “just right”, to extent of “right” foryourself, will make one pause, think, rethink, try, re-try, do, experience, experiment… with what you feel, how you feel, how you articulate what you feel… Int he way that allows reaching own level of perfection and with it putting in balance your mind, body and sould. Guiding your thoughts and actions through good and bad, difficulties, failures… which become only challenges to be overcome.
And with one by one, growing to a wholesome being.

To be a superhero first for your own good, but also for the greater good. For little things, for big things, for yourself, for a stranger, for society… For being better. For better being.
Beside their superpowers, superheroes we meet through stories all have, or had, those moment of solitude, reflection, leading to their becoming a superhero. Before engaging and using their powers to their best and fullest. Art and creative thinking allows a person to apprehend information from various sources, to take and through process of creation reflect and reinvent the content, in solitude of inner thinking (or actual isolation) to the moment of engaging and releasing the creation, sharing it with others. The artist him(her)self emerges victorious, for the knowledge and feelings he(she) enriches him(her)self and there for enlarges their potential and the potential of contribution to the greater picture – society, the world. Furthermore, it is not only as individual that one can function, but also collaborating with other artist, creative thinkers, making for a collective and even stronger impact.
It is this richness of the “felt” and of the knowledge on ethics and aesthetics that makes for a true superpower. That makes art be the superpower, the “very powerful and influential nation” needed for a greater good, for a better world.

Art is my belief

belief |biˈlēf|
noun
(1):trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something; a principle, proposition, idea, etc, accepted as true; (2):an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists: something one accepts as true or real; a firmly held opinion or conviction; a religious tenet or tenets; religious creed; (3):an opinion or conviction; something believed.
origin:
[First known use: 1125–75;  earlier bile(e)ve  (noun use of v.); replacing Middle English beleave,  equivalent to bi- be- + leave; Old English gelēafa, from ge-, associative prefix + lēafa; akin to Old English ly’fan  (cognate with Dutch geloof, German Glaube;  akin to Gothic galaubeins )].

The creation starts of as a pure feeling, feeling of something good, something of value. The belief without a proof. But as the idea evolves, whether as a part of the creating art or absorbing art, the imaginary, non-existent, and the tangible intertwine. Until the point when “the product” becomes, both as the work of art for its beauty* and as the knowledge acquired through it, the proof on its own.
It is the belief in the idea, the process, the growth, the outcome, in non-existent becoming existent, through apprehending, dealing with, creating art that we mature – as a person, and ultimately as society.
It is believing in expression and creative thinking what makes for abstract to become tangible. To become life. To improve life.

*beauty as something/anything that can move, provoke to think, make it impossible to be/stay indifferent – either positively or negatively.

art is my aim

aim |ām|
verb
(1):to direct toward an intended target; (2):to direct toward or intend for a particular goal or grou;(3):to determine a course or direct an effort; (4):o propose to do something; have the intention;
noun
(1):a purpose or intention toward which one’s efforts are directed; (2):the act of aiming;(3): the direction at a target.
origin:
Middle English aimen, from Old French esmer, to estimate (from Latin aestimre) and from Old French aesmer (from Vulgar Latin *ad estimre : Latin ad-, ad- + Latin aestimre, to estimate).

Art is knowledge. As such it is both a weapon and an aim. It demands one to, whatever art form they want to express in, search, discover, include, reveal and completely expose thoughts and emotions. The fact of the matter is that an art piece shows the deepest connection of one’s inner thoughts and feelings with everything around them. To open one’s self in that way, consciously, takes bravery and courage. Sometimes the search takes unusual turns, but eventually leads back to the goal. If you think about it, isn’t it a bit like the archer’s paradox – the phenomenon of an arrow traveling in the direction it is pointed at at full draw, when it seems that the arrow would need to pass through the starting position it was in before being drawn, where it was pointed to the side of the target.

On the end, these processes and adventures, with all the bending and seeming misleadings, bring experience, knowledge , broadened emotional pallet and intelligence and therefor are completely worthy.

wilderness |ˈwildərnis|
noun [usu. in sing. ]

origin:
Old English wildēornes [land inhabited only by wild animals,]
from wild dēor [wild deer] + ness .

Every once in a while we all get in that difficult, even painful and scary moment in life when we are to encounter with something new and frightening. Like thrown in to the wild. Completely unconstrained, uninhabited, unrestrained… yet drawing us there with the adventure of taming and inheriting feelings and experiences and infiltrating this new knowledge into our future selves. Any piece of art gives us an opportunity to do exactly that. Every piece of art becomes our own personal safari. Filled with excitement, unknown, possibilities, fright, beauty…. And upon our own “conquering” and process of acceptance is finished, these unheeded knowledge and experiences become a part of reform. Towards evolution.
